Im unteren Teil leicht trapezoides Brett mit reicher Bemalung in "Pastellfarben", oben abgeschlossen durch plastisch ausgearbeitetes Gesicht mit Perücke. Auf der Brust ein vielgliedriger Schmuckkragen aufgemalt: unter einem horizontalen Steg ein Lotus, darunter bogenförmig angeordnete Reihen aus geometrischen Motiven. Unten kniende Isis mit Flügeln und Maatfedern in den Händen. Zwischen den Flügeln und dem unteren Rand des Schmuckkragens vier Kartuschen mit Hieroglyphen. Höhe 99 cm. Breite 48,5 cm. Dazu ein Metallständer mit massiver Basis.
Provenienz: Spanische Privatsammlung, erworben 2021 in Großbritannien. Zuvor in deutscher Privatsammlung. Dort erworben 1980 aus der Sammlung N. B. In den 1950er Jahren von Dr. Manfred Weber aus Köln begutachtet.
A painted ancient Egyptian sarcophagus cover, mid-third of the 1st century B.C.
In the lower part a slightly trapezoidal board with rich painting in "pastel colours", on top a plastically worked face with wig. A multi-lobed decorative collar is painted on the chest: Under a horziontal bar a lotus, below it rows of geometric motifs arranged in an arch. Below kneeling Isis with wings and mate feathers in her hands. Between the wings and the lower edge of the decorative collar four cartouches with hieroglyphics. Height 99 cm. Width 48.5 cm. Comes with a metal stand with a massive base.
Provenance: Spanish private collection, acquired in Great Britain in 2021. Previously in German private collection. Acquired there in 1980 from the collection N. B. Appraised in the 1950s by Dr. Manfred Weber of Cologne.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
