A Narrative of the Mutiny on Board His Majesty's Ship Bounty; and the Subsequent Voyage of Part of the Crew, in the Ship's Boat, from Tofoa, one of the Friendly Islands, to Timor, a Dutch settlement in the East Indies. London: for George Nicol, 1790.

First edition of Bligh's own account of the mutiny on the Bounty, ‘one of the most remarkable incidents in the whole of maritime history’ (Hill). Ferguson 71; Hill 132; Wantrup (2023) 61.



Quarto (293 x 235mm). Folding engraved frontispiece plan of the Bounty and three charts, two of which folding, leaf C1 a cancel, as usual (leaf B1 lightly browned, some occasional light scattered spotting). Modern half calf to style, preserving contemporary marbled-paper covered boards and red morocco gilt spine label (extremities faintly rubbed). Provenance: Agustin E. Edwards (bookplate).
