First edition of the "first Dutch work on tropical medicine and the first modern description of beri-beri and cholera" (Garrison-Morton). Bondt, who spend four years with the Dutch East India Company, was probably the first to regard tropical medicine as an independent branch of medical science.
12mo (121 x 74mm). Engraved title by Cornelis van Dalen, initials and woodcut headpieces (some spotting and light staining). Modern boards (lower edges of spine a little damaged).
