Erste Ausgabe. - First edition of this work composed mainly by the Swiss naturalist, geologist Louis Bourguet in collaboration with Pierre Cartier. - It is one of the major treatises in the history of geology. Dedicated to Reaumur, it is divided into two parts. The first part begins with a discourse on the origin of fossils and continues with a succession of letters or memoirs relating to Bourguet's previous work, Lettres philosophiques. The second part proposes the classification of fossils followed by indexes giving respectively a list of the main published works on fossils, the main fossil sites in the world and an explanation of the plates. The book is illustrated with 441 figures on 60 folding plates. Bourguet was a student of Scheuchzer and Vallisneri. - Etw. wellig, tls. leicht fleckig u. Schluß etw. wasserrandig. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
