(Breviarium Constantiense. Pairs Estivalis). (Augsburg, E. Ratdolt 1516). Mit 3 (von 4, 1 wiederholt) ganzseitig Holzschnitten, 4 (1 wiederh.) Holzschn.-Bordüren und zahlreich in rot gedruckten Zierinitialen. 11 (statt 14) Bll., 185, 200, 48 num. Bll., 4 nn., 49-56 num. Bll. (ohne das letzte Bl. mit der Druckermarke). Halbleder des 18. Jhdts. mit Rückenvergoldung u. Rückenschild (Rckn. mit Ausrissen u. Wurmspuren, etwas berieben u. best.).

British Museum, German Books, 506. - Schönes, ganz in Rot und Schwarz gedrucktes Breviarium, von dessen 2 Bänden hier der zweite (par Estivalis) vorliegt. - "Von Erhard Ratdolt is aus dieser Zeit noch ein höchst liebenswürdiges Buch vorhanden das 1516 gedruckte 'Breviarium constantiniense', dessen fünf (hier 2 verschied.) die ganze Seite einnehmende Holzschnitte mit großer Wahrscheinlichkeit Burgkmair zugeschrieben werden können" (Muther 964). Die hier vorhandenen zeigen: David und Bathseba und Petrus und Paulus (einmal wiederholt). Von den 3 verschied. hübschen figürl. Bordüren sind zwei 1515 bzw. 1516 datiert. - Neben dem Titel und dem Holzschn. mit den Konstanzer Diözesanpatronen St. Konrad und St. Pelagius fehlt zu Beginn ein weiteres Bl. zwischen Kalendarium und Index. Es fehlen ferner der Pfingst-Holzschnitt vor Bl. 69. Gegen Ende im oberen Rand die Blattnummerierung beschnitten. - Erstes Blatt mit altem Besitzvermerk, Anfang u. Ende mit kl. Wurmspuren, sonst innen bemerkenswert frisch erhalten. - With 3 (of 4) woodcuts, 4 woodcut borders and numerous initials. Half leather of the 18th century (spine with tears and worming, somewhat rubbed and bumped). Lacking 3 sheets in the beginning. Beginning and end with small worming, otherwise good condition.
