Der Erleuchtete ist stehend dargestellt, wobei die rechte Hand die andere vor der Brust ergreift, trägt die Kasaya, die mit einem Ring und einer Schnur über der Schulter befestigt ist, charakteristische gefurchte und voluminöse Augenbrauen, die Wangenknochen und den Hals, auf einem Sockel mit einem Ring aus Lotusblättern.

Kashyapa wurde von den nördlichen und südlichen Dynastien bis heute als altindischer Asket mit einem markanten Schädelhöcker und langen, widerspenstigen Brauen dargestellt. In frühen Texten wird er als einer der Sieben Buddhas der Vergangenheit bezeichnet, genauer gesagt als der dritte Buddha der Bhadrakalpa- oder Gegenwartsära. Vergleichen Sie eine Bronzefigur von Kashyapa, veröffentlicht in der "Gems of Beijing Cultural Relics Series - Buddhist Statues 1", Beijing 2001, S. 86, Nr. 46 und mit einer vergoldeten Bronzefigur, die auf 1439 datiert ist und bei Christies London am 6.12.1993, Los 138, verkauft wurde, und einer dritten Figur, die bei Christie's N.Y. am 25.3.2011, Los 1414, verkauft wurde - Sehr geringe Altersspuren
