Flache, undekorierte runde Bronzescheibe, die ursprünglich wohl einen antiken Schild zierte. Mittig eine kleine Halbkugel, die mit einem Stift befestigt ist. An den Rändern kleine runde Befestigungslöcher, teilweise mit den Resten von Eisennägeln, und eine kleine halbrunde Aussparung zum Einrasten. Zwei größere rechteckige Löcher, die von großen vierkantigen Nägeln herrühren (spätere Weihung in einem Heiligtum oder Tropaion?), davon eine mit Ausbruchsspuren. Schöne dunkelgrüne Patina. Randlich Korrosionsspuren der antiken Einfassung. Kratzer auf der Vorderseite. Durchmesser 23,4 cm. Dicke ca. 0,2 cm. Gewicht 331 g.

An Etruscan bronze shield boss, 7th century B.C.
Flat round bronze disc, which probably originally decorated an antique shield. In the middle a small hemisphere which is fixed with a pin. At the edges small round fixing holes, partly with the remains of iron nails, and a small semicircular recess for snapping in. Two larger rectangular holes resulting from large square nails (later consecration in a sanctuary or tropaion?). Beautiful dark green patina. At the edges traces of corrosion of the antique bezel. Scratches on the front. Diameter 23.4 cm. Thickness about 0.2 cm. Weight 331 g.
