Bronze mit brauner Patina, detaillierte Darstellung eines mit Gewehr schreitenden Askaris in voller Ausrüstung (ohne aufgepflanztes Bajonett). Mehrteiliger, profilierter Sockel aus poliertem rotbraunen und dunkelgrünen Marmor mit graviertem Widmungsschild aus weißem Metall: "Dem scheidenden Zahlmeister Körner / 1892-1901 / Das Offizier-Corps der Schutztruppe für Deutsch-Ost-Afrika". Sockel leicht bestoßen, Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren. Gesamthöhe 58,5 cm, Gewicht 14,5 kg. Äußerst repräsentatives und seltenes Offiziersgeschenk in schöner Erhaltung. Die Orden Körners werden ebenfalls in diesem Katalog angeboten.
Die Schutztruppe in DOA bestand aus 68 Offizieren, 60 Unteroffizieren, 108 Sanitätsoffizieren und -unteroffizieren, einem Intendanturrat mit zwei -sekretären, neun Zahl- und Unterzahlmeistern, vier Feuerwerkern, acht Waffenmeistern sowie 2.742 afrikanischen Soldaten.

A bronze statuette of an askari as a farewell gift for Paymaster Otto Körner in German East Africa, 1892 - 1901
Bronze with a brown patina, the detailed representation of an askari striding forward in full gear, holding his rifle (without fixed bayonet). The multi-piece, contoured pedestal carved in polished reddish-brown and dark green marble with an engraved dedication plaque in white metal (tr.): "Presented to Paymaster Körner as a farewell gift / 1892-1901 / The Officers Corps of the Schutztruppe for German East Africa". The pedestal slightly damaged, signs of use and age. Overall height 58.5 cm, weight 14.5 kg. An extremely distinguished, rare officers' gift in beautiful condition. Körner's orders are also coming under the hammer in this catalogue. The Schutztruppe in German East Africa was composed of 68 officers, 60 NCOs, 108 medical officers and NCOs, a commissariat council with two secretaries, nine paymasters and deputy paymasters, four explosives experts, eight masters-at-arms and 2742 African soldiers.
