Die Firma Krementz war 131 Jahre das Aushängeschild für die Schmuckherstellung in Newark, New Jersey. Georg Krementz, 1840 in Deutschland geboren, gründete 1866 mit seinem Cousin Julius Lebcheucher dort ein Schmuckgeschäft. Bald wurden Krementz & Co. die Pioniere in der Herstellung von Knöpfen aus massiven Gold, die es aber auch in einer vergoldeten Version gab. Neben Knöpfen spezialisierte sich das Haus auf Manschettenknöpfe und Krawattennadeln. Um 1900 war die Firma weltweit führend in der Kategorie Herrenschmuck. Zu dieser Zeit begann das Unternehmen auch Schmuck für Damen herzustellen. Designs wie das Kleeblatt wurden bei Schmuckstücken für die Dame wie auch für den Herren angeboten. So findet sich dieses bei der vorliegenden Brosche und auch als Zierkopf bei der angebotenen Krawattennadel. SvP
