In kräftigem Halbrelief gearbeitete Brunnenmaske aus weißem Carrara-Marmor. Darstellung des Hauptes eines antiken Flussgottes, ein turbanähnliches Tuch um den Kopf geschlungen. Der Mund mit runder Aussparung für das Brunnenrohr. Auf neuzeitlichem eisernen Ständer montiert. Maße 44 x 30 cm, Höhe inkl. Ständer 50,5 cm.

Condition Report:

Stellenweise bestoßen mit kleinen Ausbrüchen an den Kanten des Tuches. Wasserbedingte Korrosionsspuren unterhalb des Brunnenrohres.
An Italian fountain mask in marble, 16th/17th century
The fountain mask carved in deep half relief in white Carrara marble. A depiction of the head of an antique river deity, a turban-like cloth wound around its head. The mouth with a circular aperture for the fountain pipe. Mounted on a modern iron pedestal. Dimensions 44 x 30 cm, height with stand 50.5 cm.

Condition Report:

The mask knocked in places, with small chips on the edges of the turban. Traces of corrosion caused by water below the fountain pipe.
