Eines von 30 römisch num Exemplaren der Vorzugsausgabe auf Japan (GA 1550 Ex.). - "In 1905 a final publication 70 Dessins de Cappiello... including black and white lithographic prints, as well as a handful of colour images produced by the process of pochoir. The technique was popular at the time as a way of adding colours to an image relatively cheaply, and would involve colour being hand printed onto an image with stencils" (wikiwand). - Der aus Italien stammende Illustrator, Plakatkünstler und Karikaturist L. Cappiello (1875-1942) publizierte erste Karikaturen in seiner Heimatstadt Livorno,1898 setzte er diese Arbeit in Paris fort mit Beiträgen in den humoristisch-satirischen Illustrierten wie Le Rire, Le Sourire, L'Assiette au beurre und Le Crie. Mit der Arbeit Nos Actrices in La Revue blanche gelang der Durchbruch. Die Illustration zu 70 dessins entstanden von 1900 bis 1904. - Die Bremer Buchbinderei Martin Lehmann feierte im Dezember 1941 ihr 50jähriges Bestehen. - Sehr gutes sauberes Exemplar im aufwendigen Meistereinband. - One of 30 numbered copies. With illustrated pochoir coloured title and 69 illustrations as well as additional suite. Contemporary vellum. Very good copy.
