Spätimpressionstisches, mit schnellem, weich-pastosem Duktus gemaltes Werk, das zu den frühesten bekannten Werken des Künstlers gehört. Uphoffs künstlerische Entwicklung 1907, als er durch den Kunstmäzen Karl Ernst Osthaus in Hagen in Westfalen unterstützt wurde und in dessen 1902 dort gegründeten Folkwang-Museum die Kunst der Moderne unmittelbar vor Augen hatte. Zugleich wurde Uphoff Mitglied im sog. "Folkwang-Kreis" in Hagen, freundschaftlich gefördert durch Christian Rohlfs. Durch Osthaus konnte Uphoff 1909 auch nach Paris reisen, um dort Schüler von Henri Matisse zu werden. Als am Theater in Hagen am 16. Oktober jedoch 1910 das von Uphoff verfasste Stück "Wenn sie lieben" uraufgeführt wurde und wegen "unsittlichen Inhalts" einen Theaterskandal hervorrief, sah er sich veranlasst 1911 nach Worpswede zu gehen. Dort gehörte Uphoff zum Freundeskreis des Universalkünstlers Heinrich Vogeler und war mit ihm 1918/19 zunächst einer der Revolutionäre. Öl/Lwd., doubl.; R. o. sign. u. dat. (19)07. 56,5 cm x 79,5 cm. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
