Auf einem lichten Waldpfad stehender Stutzer in Begleitung eines barfüßigen Herrn, die bedächtig einen an einem Ast befestigten, kleinen Vogelkäfig beobachten, der gerade einen weiteren Vogel angelockt hat. Die feinmalerisch ausgeführte Szene gehört zu einer Gruppe von Gemälden Spitzwegs, in denen der Maler das Verhältnis des Menschen mit der Natur schilderte, Schmetterlings- und Käfersammler sowie Vogelfreunde mit Tieren beim Morgenkonzert (Wvz. Wichmann 378-80, 525-29). Eine Spezialität Spitzwegs waren kleinformatige, pointenhafte Kabinettbilder, in denen er mit feinfühligem Humor und grandioser Beobachtungsgabe insbesondere das Leben des biedermeierlichen, kleinstädtischen Bürgertums und kauzige Sonderlinge schilderte. Öl/dünner Karton. Rechts unten signiert bzw. bez. mit Spitzweg-Raute in Ligatur mit "S". Verso alte Künstler-Bez.; 22,5 cm x 17,5 cm. Rahmen.
Oil on cardboard. Signed or inscribed. Further old inscription 'Spitzweg' on the reverse.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
