Silver caviar jar made in the form of a rustic basket with a lid, imitating relief weaving of bast. The jar is decorated with a trompe l`oeil, executed in the form of a woven napkin tied with a woven rope. The napkin is decorated with a relief geometric pattern imitating Russian-style embroidery on fabric. The edges of the napkin are decorated with fringe. Silver, stamping, embossing, chasing, engraving. Russian Empire, Moscow. 1892. Hallmarks: master`s mark in the form of the letters GL in a square shield, assay mark in the form of a fraction, in the numerator of which are the letters A.S, and in the denominator the year of assaying - 1892; silver sample - 84 in a square shield; an indicator of the Moscow Assay Chamber in the form of an image of St. George the Victorious on a horse (oriented to the left) in a figured shield.
