Bright colored Fauvist landscape by the artist. The painting belongs to a group of works with the same motive, the Camoin painted in several versions in 1941 in Saint-Tropez; one of them is "Le Favouillou aux trois pins" was auctioned in 2016, at Christie's in New York for $ 60,000, -. Camoin studied in 1898 in Paris, where he became friends with Albert Marquet and Henri Matisse; at the same time, he dealt intensively with Vincent van Gogh, from whom he acquires in 1901, itself a painting, Paul Cézanne was in the same year, a fatherly friend Camoins. In 1903, Camoin joined the "Fauves" (="Wild"), Marquet and Matisse, in 1904-1907 with them in the avant-garde Galerie Berthe Weill's and participated in the legendary Salon d Automne of 1905. In 1921, he settled in Saint-Tropez and painted many views of the city and its surroundings.
