(1898 Theizé - 1988 Orsay)Fauvist LandscapeIntense color, style and motif typical landscape by the artist. Lapicque, which operated since the 1920s as a landscape and marine painter, had in 1929 his first solo exhibition at the gallery Jeanne Bucher. In 1937, he was commissioned to design five large wall designs for the Parisian Palais de la Découvert, one of which ("La synthèse organique"), brought him the medal of honor of the Paris world exhibition of 1937. After Lapique 1939 had met the cubist artist Jacques Villon, he came to the "Mouvement des Jeunes Peintres de la Tradition Française", Alfred Manessier and Jean Bazaine belonged to and exhibited with them in 1941. In 1953, Lapicque received the "Prix Raoul Dufy" of the biennial in Venice; in 1979, he was awarded the "Grand prix national de peinture". Oil/Cardboard. L. u. signed; 35.5 cm x 46 cm. Frame.Another Version of this landscape ("Le bords de Trieux", 1957) was auctioned in 1988 at Christie's in London. Oil on cardboard Signed.
