CHEN WENXI/ CHEN WEN HSI (1906-1991) - China/Singapore, 20th ct. - Lotus pond and heron. Ink and light colors on paper, framed under glass. Signature: "painted by Wenxi" and a seal of the artist: "Chen Wenxi". - From an old Austrian private collection, collected in the 1970s Chen Wenxi (1906-1991) was born in Jieyang of Guangdong province. In his youth, he already showed great talent and passion for art and painting. He studied in the Xinhua College of Art in Shanghai with renowned artists such as Pan Tianshou and had later solo exhibitions in Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Shanghai, etc. Since 1948, he lived in Singapore and worked as an art school teacher.
