A curious manuscript of the Statute of the Church of SS. Trinity in Naples.

8vo (227 x 162mm). 38 vellum leaves witha a detailed description of the number of Brothers and Officers of the Congregation of the various Offices and their competences. The work begins with 3 coloured miniatures with a gold background depicting: the first the coat of arms of the city of Capua and the noble Del Balzo family; the second a "Pietà" enclosed in a frame with a gold background; the third an image of the Crucifixion. The initials are in gold and the different writings styles are a clear indication that the manuscript was made by different hands. At the end there two wax and paper stamps (some general wear and a few leaves splitting). Early leather decorated in gilt on the covers and spine (some wear).
