Lot 1469 | Chiffriermaschine "Enigma I", Nummer "A 5773" von 1937, komplett mit Holzkasten

The Enigma is in good, almost untouched condition as found, it was merely cleaned gently and tested. It is now fully functional mechanically and electronically. The case with the original black lacquer. Underneath the cover the battery box without battery and without traces of corrosion. Three identically numbered cipher rotors (I, II and IV) as well as the reflector (a contemporary replacement) with a different number, each of them made of bakelite with aluminium hand wheel and the Latin letters from A to Z. The base plate punched with "5773" at the bottom. The keyboard in the usual QWERT order, the keys with intact glass discs and cover rings. The set of cables complete with twelve original cables. The green disc and the small integrated bulbs (flat glass bulbs) were re-manufactured specially for the Enigma. The rotary switch is somewhat loose, but its function is unimpaired.
