Selbstbildnis von Christian Seybold
Bei dem in effektvoller, von Rembrandt beeinflusster Hell-Dunkelmalerei ausgeführten Werk, handelt es sich laut der Seybold-Expertin Dr. Lilian Ruhe um eine Kopie nach einem bisher unbekannten Selbstbildnis, das in die Nähe seiner Selbstporträts in der Gemäldegalerie Alte Meister in Dresden (Inv.-Nr. Gal.-Nr. 2096) und im Schloss Kuskowo (bei Moskau) eingeordnet werden kann. Seybold malt sich mit kritischem, selbstbewusstem Blick und wendet sich zugleich dem Betrachter zu, das markante Gesicht en face, auf dem Kopf seine charakteristische, zerknautschte, blaue Mütze. Reizvoll und einzigartig an dieser Komposition ist, dass er in der linken Hand das Miniaturporträt eines noch nicht identifizierbaren hochrangigen Mäzens hält. Seybold ist seit 1715 in Wien nachweisbar; 1745 ernannte ihn König August III. von Polen (zugleich Kurfürst Friedrich August II. von Sachsen) zum Hofmaler, 1749 wurde er Hofmaler Maria Theresias und Assoziierter der Akademie in Wien. Außer durch Rembrandt wurde er in seinen Selbstbildnissen insbesondere durch den 1708/09-1723 in Wien tätigen Johann Kupetzky (1667 - 1740) geprägt. Öl/Lwd., auf Karton kaschiert. 63 cm x 47 cm. Klassizistischer Rahmen.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
