Estimate value
€ 200 – 300
Two interesting 16th-century works bound together. The first deals with the history of the Christian Churches in the Ottoman Empire, in Russia and in the Balkans; the second is a collection of Christian and Hebrew poems on the apocalypse containing both the original Greek text and the Latin translation.
2 works in one volume, 8vo (149 x 88mm). Texts in Greek and Latin, printer's device on first title, woodcut headpieces and initials (some browning and occasional waterstaining, tiny wormtrack to lower margin at the end of the first work). 18th-century calf, gilt spine, red speckled edges (some general wear, heavier on spine). Provenance: early erased ownership notes on titles (creating small holes).
