Date: 19th century.
Technique: Bronze, hollow cast, chiselled and patinated in black. Marble pedestal.
Measurement: Height 51,5cm.


The bust presented here is copied from a portrait bust that was found during excavations
in the "Villa dei Papiri" near Herculaneum in the mid-18th century. Like the other
sculptures of this extraordinary discovery, it is now part of the collection of the Museo
Archologico Nazionale di Napoli.

- In good, age-typical condition with the corresponding rubbing and fine, superficial rubbing. - The patina in the raised areas of the hair partially rubbed off. - The screw connection of the bust to the marble base somewhat loose and wobbly.
