Further details

The Asano clan was a prominent samurai family that rose to power in the Sengoku period while serving the Oda clan. Their influence grew further in the Edo period, when they ruled Aki Province (Hiroshima) as major western daimyō. After the Meiji Restoration, the clan joined the new Kazoku peerage system and received the hereditary rank of marquis.

This work includes an appraisal by Kanō Ikawain Narimichi (1775–1828) and a receipt documenting the marquis Asano family’s transfer of ownership in the 18th year of Shōwa period (1943).
