Das lippische Füsilier-Bataillon wurde am 20.6.1697 aufgestellt und am 27.5.1867 aufgelöst, die lippischen Soldaten überstellte man zum III. (Füsilier-)Bataillon des 6. Westfälischen Infanterie-Regiments Nr. 55. Der lippische Säbel für Offiziere wurde 1859 eingeführt. Säbel dieser Art führten die Angehörigen des Fürstenhauses nach der Auflösung des Bataillons bis 1918 weiter. Anbei ein Reprofoto des Fürsten mit diesem Säbel.
Einzigartige, hochrangige Blankwaffe mit historischer Bedeutung.
The Damascus pipe-backed blade (dark patina) with yelmen, lavishly etched on both sides (remnants of gilding), the obverse inscribed "Füsilier-Bataillon Lippe / 20. Juni 1697", the crowned sovereign's cipher "L" on the reverse, the supplier's signature "Deutscher Offizier Verein Berlin" on a gilt background on the back. The lavishly embellished, gilt brass hilt with main and side bars extending into an openwork basket hilt, inlaid in which is a silver "Lippe rose". The folding guard plate on the reverse can be folded forwards, detailed eagle head pommel, the chequered grip with firm, triple wire winding, leather finger strap (cracked). No scabbard. Signs of age and handling. Length 91 cm.
The Lippe Fusilier Battalion was established on 20 June 1697 and dissolved on 27 May 1867. The Lippe soldiers were transferred to the IIIrd (Fusilier) Battalion of the 6th Westphalian Infantry Regiment no. 55. The Lippe sabre for officers was introduced in 1859. After the battalion was dissolved, sabres of this type were still used by members of the royal house until 1918. Comes with a reproduction photograph of the Prince with this sabre.
