Cold-Painted Bronze, Ivory. Onyx pedestal with bronze plaque. On a rectangular Base pre-bronze plaque displayed with three dancers. On Figure
a young woman in the same costume in a dance pose, the viewer is looking at. Height 40.5 cm.
On the back of the upper side of the socket Ref. 'Chiparus', engraved. Condition A/B.

Demetre H. Chiparus - and the spirit of the Art Deco

In the roaring 20s in Paris live, Demetre Chiparus, in addition to the currents of art, and a new, modern image of woman, the Garçonne, as well as by the glamorous revues in the Folies Bèrgere or the Moulin Rouge influenced were presented. Here is a guest the famous dancers such as Isadora Duncan, or the Dolly Sisters. Their exotic costumes and dance poses, inspired by Chiparus to its fragile and precious chryselephantinen figures.
