A good copy, complete with the life of Dante by Melchiorre Missirini, of the Commedia illustrated with numerous illustrations drawn largely from the works of Flaxman, Pinelli and Ademollo. The comment is edited by Paolo Costa (1771-1836), poet and scholar of neoclassical orientation, and was appreciated by various scholars including Carlo Carpellini, Scipione Colelli and Giuseppe Arcangeli.

4 volumes, 8vo (235 x 155mm). Chromolithographic frontispiece to the first volume, over 500 woodcut vignettes in the text, pages printed within an engraved frame (light and sporadic spotting). Contemporary half-calf with title and embossed and gilt decorations on spine, marbled edges. Provenance: Pietro Vercelli (ownership inscription). (4)

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
