Superbe série de 100 lithographies d'Honoré Daumier, en demi-reliure de l'époque.
Robert Macaire est d'abord un personnage de théâtre, créé par le dramaturge Antier. Mais c'est bien l'interprétation de Frédérick Lemaître qui tourne un personnage sombre et verbeux en dérision, le rendant bouffon et grotesque.
Le texte fut modifié pour tenir compte de cette relecture du personnage et le succès public inattendu de la pièce permit au personnage de devenir un véritable archétype de l'escroc à la petite semaine - "le" Robert Macaire", ou même, comme ici, "les" Robert Macaire, comme autant de situations dont l'affairiste éponyme cherche à tirer profit.
Les planches de Daumier, sur un texte de Philipon, avaient été publiées dans Le Charivari entre le 20 août 1836 et 25 novembre 1838. Hazard et Delteil, n°989-1090.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
