Hebdomadaire satirique fondé par le journaliste Charles Philipon, La Caricature parut du 4 novembre 1830 au 27 août 1835, son arrêt étant précipité par les lois limitant la liberté de la presse. Daumier y apporta sa collaboration à partir de 1832, réalisant plus d'une centaine de planches pour le journal. Carteret, III, pp. 113-132 ; Vicaire, II, col. 50-81 ; Hazard et Delteil, pp. 66 et suivantes.
251 fascicules en 5 vol. in-4 (environ 365 x 265 mm pour les panches et 340 x 280 pour les feuillets de texte). Les numéros 1 à 7 sont en seconde réimpression et les numéros 8 à 29 en réimpression, comme l'indique la présence de la vignette avec légende "Castigat ridendo mores". Illustré de 526 lithographies originales de Daumier, Grandville, Despéret, Monnier, Decamps, Raffet, Traviès, Bouquet, Roubaud et d'autres, dont 141 planches en couleurs ou partiellement rehaussées. Bien complet de la planche 19, qui manque souvent, des feuillets de supplément de texte aux numéros 30 et 55 et de l'affiche sur papier rose accompagnant le numéro 124. Manque la planche 132 bis. Piqures éparses, mouillures sur certaines planches, feuillets de texte des volumes 4 et 5 brunis, premier numéro restauré, pl. 508 découpée et contrecolée.

Auctions are performed by auction houses and each of the auction houses describes their terms of auction. You can see the texts in the section "Auction information".
The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
