Als junger Künstler erlangt David Tollmann vor allem durch die Art Karlsruhe (2019) Bekanntheit. Zwar ist Tollmann Künstler in dritter Generation, doch ist er anders als sein Vater und Großvater nicht als Künstler im klassischen Sinne ausgebildet, sondern erarbeitete sich seinen farbprächtigen und modernen Stil als Autodidakt. Auf seine Freude am Malen gehen internationale Galerien, die ihn vertreten, immer wieder ein. Dies lässt sich in den Motiven, die mit starken Farben und abstrahierten, grafisch-geometrischen Formen angelegt sind, erkennen. Auch lassen sich Anlehnungen an Stilen früherer Kunstgeschichte erkennen, wie etwa der Kubismus, die Pop Art oder die typische Manier der Portraitmalerei. So wird auch im Großformat 'Golden Gala' das Portrait einer jungen Frau in zeitgemäßer Form auf die Leinwand gebracht.

As a young artist, David Tollmann is gaining notoriety primarily through Art Karlsruhe (2019). Although Tollmann is a third-generation artist, unlike his father and grandfather he was not educated as an artist in the classical sense, but acquired his own colourful and modern style as an autodidact. The international galleries that represent him, always refer to his pleasure in painting. This can be seen in the motifs, which are laid out with strong colours and abstracted, graphic-geometric forms. There are also references to styles of earlier art history, such as Cubism, Pop Art or the typical manner of portrait painting. Just, as we can see, in the large format 'Golden Gala', the portrait of a young woman is brought onto the canvas in a contemporary way.
