Hohl geschliffene Dreikantklinge (etwas fleckig), im oberen Drittel allseitig geätzt, vergoldet und gebläut (berieben) mit Darstellung von Ranken, Rocaillen und Kränzen. Vergoldetes Buntmetall-Bügelgefäß (etwas berieben) mit Helmknauf, terzseitig ein nierenförmiges Stichblatt mit Netzgravur, vierkantiger, allseits gewaffelter Griff aus schwarzem Holz. Schwarze Lederscheide (geschrumpft, krakeliert, unauffällige ältere Reparaturen) mit vergoldeten Beschlägen (Netzgravur), schildförmiger Trageknopf (reliefiertes Palmettenmotiv). Partiell leicht beschädigt, Altersspuren. Länge 101 cm. Schön erhaltene Feuervergoldung.
A small-sword for a high-ranking officer, late 18th century
Blade of hollow triangular section (somewhat stained), the upper third etched, gilt and blue (rubbed) on all sides with depiction of tendrils, rocailles and wreaths. Gilt knuckle-bow hilt of non-ferrous metal (somewhat rubbed) with helmet pommel, on the obverse kidney-shaped guard plate engraved with net pattern, quadrangular grip of black wood chequered on all sides. Black leather scabbard (shrunk, with craquelures, unobtrusive older repairs) with gilt fittings (engraved with net pattern), shield-shaped frog stud (raised palmette décor). Slightly damaged in places, traces of age. Length 101 cm. Beautifully preserved fire gilding.
