Figure: copper, cast bronze, gilding, and fine pigment paint. Base in repoussé technology, gold-plated. The well-designed face shows a slight Smile and remnants of detail-rich painted decoration, especially on the left eye. The hands at Heart level in a mirrored Version of the bodyangi mudra, which symbolizes the Union of opposites. The kasaya-robe is put over the left shoulder and Arm, as well as prior to the feet in elegant folds. The Lotosockel is closed. In the case of radiological investigation, it became clear that in the Base smaller, and roundish shapes, which are probably of a grain, perhaps barley.

Vairocana, the Central of the five great Tathagata Buddha, is regarded as the embodiment of absolute truth, and shines through the universe. His hand position is similar to the teaching gesture, because he is also regarded as a great teacher. Height 25cm, width 14cm, depth 11.5 cm. Condition A/B. Several old repairs under the gold plating visible.
