Édition en partie originale. Elle est divisée en trois parties et renferme vingt-six psaumes inédits.

Le poète poursuivit son œuvre d’inspiration religieuse tout à sa carrière de courtisan frustré, dans l’espérance d’un grand bénéfice ecclésiastique, en l’occurrence l’archevêché de Bordeaux.



Très belle reliure parisienne de l’époque, richement ornée.

Son décor décalque de manière presque mimétique celles exécutées pour l’ambassadeur de Venise à la cour du roi d’Henri II, Pietro Duodo, entre 1594 et 1597. 3 parties en 1 vol. in-8 (168 x 97 mm). Édition originale. Chaque partie a sa propre page de titre avec la marque de l’imprimeur, et sa pagination séparée. Exemplaire réglé. Reliure française de l’époque : maroquin brun, riche décor d’encadrements et de bordures aux petits fers de palmes et de branchettes courbes, filets dorés, entourant un médaillon de maroquin ébène, au centre de rangées d’ovales répétés de feuillage cernant diverses fleurs au naturel, les ovales d’angles comprenant eux la colombe nimbée du Saint-Esprit, décor se prolongeant sur le dos lisse, tranches dorées, étui moderne (mors un peu frottés).
