An extra-illustrated copy of Pepys's diary, with over 300 additional plates. They include engraved portraits of notable 17th-century figures such as William Shakespeare, Sir Isaac Newton, Oliver Cromwell, and King Louis XIV, among many others, and maps of English sites, including the area of London affected by the Great Fire.

Six volumes, large 4tos (289 x 184mm). Complete and with an additional approximately 276 portraits, 13 maps and plans, and 40 scenes (some intermittent spotting throughout, mostly minor, more pronounced at preliminaries). Modern navy morocco gilt, top edges gilt, fore-edges uncut.
