- Private collection Bavaria.

If one compares the porcelain head with other dolls, it could be an Armand Marseille doll. The mark on the neck is not visible because it is glued to the collar of the robe. Armand Marseille (1856-1925) was born in St. Petersburg. He left Russia with his family in 1860 and moved to Coburg. In 1884 Marseille bought the doll factory of Mathias Lambert in Sonneberg/Thuringia and in 1885 took over the porcelain factory Lidberman & Wegscher in Köppelsdorf/Thuringia and became one of the most successful doll head manufacturers in Germany.
