Édition originale rarissime.
Composée à l’occasion de la Paix de Saint-Germain et dédiée au roi Charles IX. Mais là où Dorat chante les louanges « du meilleur Roy des Rois », qui a « par sa prudence/Changé discord civil en civille alliance », les calvinistes virent une paix « boîteuse et mal-assise », du nom des ambassadeurs royaux Biron, boiteux, et De Mesmes, seigneur de Malassise. La paix fut d’ailleurs de courte durée puisque deux ans plus tard se produisit le massacre de la Saint-Barthélémy.
Humaniste et philologue, le poète Dorat avait été le professeur du jeune Ronsard qui l’appela à siéger au sein de la Pléiade. Publiée à compte d’auteur, l’édition comporte une grande figure sur bois, à pleine page, et une vignette sur le titre représentant la Paix couronnée triomphant de la guerre civile. In-4 (210 x 148 mm). Édition originale. Vignette gravée sur la page de titre. Un bois gravé à pleine page : allégorie du pouvoir royal (Imperium) trônant entre la Prudence et la Concorde. Bandeaux graves. Reliure moderne en maroquin brun, décor d’encadrements sur les plats, dos à nerfs orné de filets à froid, lettre dorée, gardes de papier peigné, dentelle intérieure, tranches dorées.

The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
