Édition originale de l'un des plus célèbres recueils de poésie française.



Écrit sous l’influence d’un séjour romain (1553-1557) au service de son cousin, le cardinal Jean du Bellay, le fameux recueil de 191 sonnets relève du genre satirique et de l’élégie. La plainte du poète en exil se double d’une critique acerbe de la Rome pontificale. USTC ne recense que 10 exemplaires, et nous n’avons pu localiser qu’un seul exemplaire passé en vente publique, celui de la collection Burton. USTC 1153 ; J. P. Barbier-Mueller, MBP, III, 12 ; N. In-4 (224 x 160 mm). Marque de l’imprimeur au titre, bandeau et lettrines gravés. Reliure janséniste signée H. Blanchetière : maroquin rouge, dos à nerf, titre doré, double filet aux coupes et large dentelle intérieure, tranches dorées (plusieurs feuillets, dont le titre, proviennent vraisemblablement d’un autre exemplaire, quelques infimes déchirures marginales). Provenance : Auguste P. Garnier (ex-libris).

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
