Rare édition originale en maroquin ancien. Cette œuvre « trouva des amateurs empressés, et dès 1603 elle comptait sept ou huit éditions…Ce compteur imite Rabelais, mais il est bien supérieur aux mauvais écrivains qui…voulurent marcher sur les traces du joyeux curé de Meudon ; il narre souvent avec vivacité, avec une moquerie incisive et fine. Une certaine gravité d’esprit se mêle chez lui à l’humeur satirique et à la gaîté de l’écrivain facétieux ; l’historiette est un accessoire, un dernier moyen de persuasion pour mettre en relief quelques sages conseils, quelques préceptes de morale » (Hoefer, Nouvelle biographie universelle, 1852, XV, col. 60-61). L’adresse présente sur la page de titre est fictive ; on doit l’identification de son véritable imprimeur à Louis Loriot et son article "L'imprimeur des contes d'Eutrapel, 1585" (Revue des livres anciens, T. II, fasc. 3, 1916, pp. 312-313). Ultime facétie, si le titre évoque un ouvrage posthume, le livre a bien paru du vivant de son auteur. Brunet, II, col. 1164 ; French Vernacular Books, I, 17190.
In-8 (160 x 94 mm). Édition originale. La page de titre semble imprimée sur papier plus épais ou contrecollée. Bandeaux, lettrines, fleurons, culs-de-lampe (piqûres et rousseurs éparses ; manque de papier minime dans l’angle inférieur droit du feuillet M4). Maroquin rouge ancien, dos à nerfs, lettre dorée, gardes de papier marbré, tranches dorées sur marbrure (reliure restaurée). Provenance : Georges Massoulard (ex-libris).

First of all, you should register to be able to purchase at auction. The results of the auction are published within a few days after the end of the auction. In the top menu of the site, find the tab "Auctions". Click on it and you will be on the auction catalog page, where you can easily find the category "Results". After opening it, select the desired auction from the list, enter and view the current status of the interested lot.
The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. In the near future you will find detailed information for each case in the section "Auction information" on the page of the auction catalog and the lot.
Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
