Gold-Medaille mit Goetheportrait für Träger des Deutschen Nationalpreises 1953, rs. der Goldstempel "750", an Tragespange aus vergoldetem Silber, rs. die Silberpunze "900", im originalen Verleihungsetui zusammen mit schwerer roter Verleihungsmappe, darin die Verleihungsurkunde, datiert "Berlin, den 7. Oktober 1953" (Tag der Republik) und eigenhändig in Tinte unterschrieben von Präsident Wilhelm Pieck. Außerdem der offizielle rotlederne Ausweis zum Nationalpreis Nr. I 55/53, darin Portraitfoto und eigenhändige Unterschrift Schmidts (Randeinrisse im Papier). Gebrauchs- und Altersspuren. Durchmesser der Medaille 26 mm, Gewicht 16 g (Medaille und Tragespange). Einzigartige, wertige Auszeichnungsgruppe von historischer Bedeutung.

Gold medal with a portrait of Goethe for bearers of the German National Prize 1953, the gold stamp "750" on the back, on a suspension bar in gilt silver, the silver hallmark "900" on the back. In the original presentation case together with the heavy red award folder containing the award document, dated "Berlin, den 7. Oktober 1953" (Republic Day), with the original signature in ink of President Wilhelm Pieck. Moreover, the official red leather card for the National Prize No. I 55/53, including a portrait photo and original signature of Schmidt (tears in the paper at the edge). Signs of age and handling.
