Portrait of a writer in his Salon
Ganzfiguriges image of trying to figure out the writers with manuscripts and books, in the Background, the bust of Moliere. Very finely painted, subtly distinguished work of major portraitists. Pingret studied, among other things, in the case of J.-L. David. In 1808 he created a Portrait of Napoleon I; from 1810 he exhibited at the Salon. Oil/canvas; L. u. signed and dated 1834. Verso of original adhesive piece of paper with undeutl. Name; 56 cm x 46 cm. Frame.
Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1834. Indistinctly inscribed on an original label on the reverse.
