Tuschfeder und Aquarell, 42,5 x 59,5 cm, rechts unten monogramm und datiert ES 1949, verso Darstellung von zwei weiblichen Akten, Tuschfeder, ebenfalls monogramm und datiert ES 1949, ungerahmt. - Deutscher Bildhauer, Zeichner und Graphiker. S. studierte 1903-07 an der Akademie München, zunächst Malerei, unter anderem bei Länge von Herterich, begann sich aber schon während des Studiums mit Bildhauerei zu beschäftigen. Nach einem längeren Paris-Aufenthalt gehörte er 1913 zu den Mitbegründern der Neuen Secession München. Ab 1923 war er Professor in Berlin und Düsseldorf, 1937 von den Nationalsozialisten aber entlassen und seine Kunst als 'entartet' eingestuft. 1946 erhielt er eine Professur an der Hamburger Landeskunstschule. Seine Arbeiten wurden auf der Documenta gezeigt; 1955 stiftete die Stadt Hamburg den Edwin-Scharff-Preis. Museum: Berlin (Nat.-Gal.), Köln (Wallraf-Richartz-Mus.), Hamburg (Kunsthalle), München, Mannheim, Neu-Ulm (E.-S.-Museum) unter anderem Literatur: Thieme-Becker, Vollmer.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
