Set of three Tulip chairs and one round Tulip table
Fibreglass-reinforced plastic column base: cast aluminium with white plastic coating, black seat cushions. Signs of wear and tear. Height of the chairs 80 cm, seat 48 x 44 cm, height of the table 73 cm, diameter of the top 90 cm.

Mit dem Tulip Stuhl entwickelte Eero Saarinen (Kirkkonummi, Finnland 1910-1961 Ann Arbor, Michigan) von 1955 bis 1957 den ersten einbeinigen Stuhl der Möbelgeschichte für den amerikanischen Hersteller Knoll International. Der Saarinen Tulip Chair war Teil einer ganzen Möbelkollektion mit Säulenfuß, der sogenannten Pedestal Collection, zu der auch Saarinen Tische und der Saarinen Tulip Armlehnstuhl gehören. Wie der Tulpen Stuhl besteht auch der Tulpen Armlehnstuhl aus einem Säulenfuß aus schwerem Aluminiumformguss, der in Verbindung mit der organisch geschwungenen, hier mit Armlehnen geformten Sitzschale, die typische Tulpenform bildet.
