A German Bronze Age sword, circa 1000 B.C.
A very beautiful example of a "Griffzungenschwert" with a bulging middle rib, five punched holes and a wonderful Malachite patina. Very small breakouts at the cutting edges. Otherwise intact. Length 57.5 cm.

Provenance: South German privat collection. Acquired at Gorny & Mosch in 2014.

Griffzungenschwert, deutsch, Urnenfelderzeit, ca. 1000 v. Chr.
Exzellent erhaltenes Griffzungenschwert mit breiter Mittelrippe. Im Bereich des Heftes und der Angel insgesamt fünf Nietlöcher. Entlang der Schneiden altersbedingt minimale Ausbrüche. Leichte Biegung in der Klingenmitte. Hervorragende Patina, auf einer Seite in einen Malachitton übergehend. Intakt ohne Ergänzungen. Länge 57,5 cm.

Provenienz: Aus süddeutscher Sammlung. Erworben bei Gorny & Mosch 2014.

The information about the auction winners is confidential. The auction winner will receive a direct notification from the auction house responsible with instructions for further action: an invoice for payment and the manner in which the goods will be received.
Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments.
