Zwei runde, fein skulptierte und geschnitzte sowie gedrechselte Medaillons in Form von höfisch gekleideten Damen, in Buchsbaum gearbeitet. Die Medaillons akkurat gedrechselt, mehrfach profiliert sowie sehr fein geschnitzt mit zahlreichen Details, diese bezeichnet: "R. ELISABET. ZU. HUNGERN.“ und "SUSANNAE. ZU. FRONPERG.“. Eingesetzt in Ebenholztafeln. Diese in späterem geschnitzten, hohl gekehlten und ebonisierten sowie teilvergoldeten Obstholzrahmen. Leichte Altersspuren. Eine Tafel mit durchgehendem Schwundriss. Vergoldung berieben. Durchmesser der Medaillons 7,8 cm. Gerahmt 14 x 14 cm.

A fine pair of German Mannerist-style reliefs, circa 1600
Two round, turned medallions, finely sculpted and carved in boxwood, in the form of ladies wearing court dress. The medallions accurately turned, with several contours, extremely finely carved with a great many details and inscribed "R. ELISABET. ZU. HUNGERN." and "SUSANNAE. ZU. FRONPERG.". Inset in ebony panels. The panels in carved, hollow-fullered, ebonised and partially gilt fruitwood frames of later date. Slight signs of age. One panel with a continuous shrinkage crack. The gilding is rubbed. Diameter of the medallions 7.8 cm, including frame 14 x 14 cm.
