Lot 3117A Pair of percussion pistols in the box, Edward & William Bond, London, circa 1840
Browned, octagonal Damascus barrels with smooth souls in caliber 12 mm. On the upper side, finely engraved signature "E & W Bond, 45 Cornhill London". On the under sides failed London acceptance marks and "W. Ellis". Piston base with platinum filled Zündlöchern. Locks with fine tendrils engraving. Full stocks made from walnut wood with fine-gewaffelten piston. Finely engraved, blued furniture, the trigger guard is numbered "678" and "679". Vacant silver thumb plate, iron joint load of sticks. Length per 30.5 cm. In the associated box made of oak wood, the lid with folding handle and engraved owner's name "Mr. Edward Webb, carrying". Lockable, key is included. The Interior with green felt lined. In the cover glued-in manufacturer's label. Included wide range of accessories, comprising a powder bottle, screwdriver, piston key, ball pliers, cleaning rod and cap tin. Dimensions of box 6.5 x 42 x 21.5 cm. Condition: II +
