Achtkantige, entlang der Grate fein gekehlte Läufe mit gut erhaltener originaler Bläuung. Fünffach gezogene Seelen im Kaliber 10 mm. Rahmen mit fein gestochener Rankengravur, auf der Oberseite gestempelte Herstellerbezeichnung "Cusson et Rossignol Brevetes" sowie Nummer "63". Auf den linken Rahmenseiten gestempelte "ELG"-Abnahmemarke, gekehlte Kolben aus Ebenholz mit gravierten eisernen Knaufkappen. Länge je 36,5 cm. In Kasten aus ebonisiertem Holz, die Messingeinlagen des Deckels teils defekt. Abschließbar, Schlüssel fehlt. Das Innere mit rotem Samt ausgekleidet, beiliegendes Zubehör bestehend aus Pulverflasche, Kugelzange, Ladehammer, Ladestock, Fettbüchse und Pistondose. Maße des Kastens 6 x 43 x 31,5 cm.
Guillaume Cusson (1807 - 1859) und Jean Baptiste Lefebre, genannt Rossignol (1809 - 1893), Büchsenmacher in Clermont-Ferrant (Puy-de-Dome), hatten gemeinsam drei Patente in Brüssel eingetragen. Die Stempelung weist auf eine Abnahme der Pistolen in Lüttich hin.

A cased pair of underhammer target pistols, Cusson et Rossignol of Clermont-Ferrand, circa 1855
Octagonal barrels, finely grooved along the ridge, with well-preserved, original bluing. Five-groove rifled bores in 10 mm calibre. The frames finely etched with tendrils, the manufacturer's mark "Cusson et Rossignol Brevetes" and the number "63" stamped on the top. The "ELG" proof mark stamped on the left side of the frames, grooved ebony butts with engraved iron butt caps. Length of each 36.5 cm.
In a case of ebonised wood, some of the brass inlays of the lid damaged. Lockable, the key is missing. The inside lined in red velvet. Includes accessories comprising powder flask, bullet mould, loading hammer, ramrod, grease tin and nipple box. Dimensions of the case 6 x 43 x 31.5 cm.
Guillaume Cusson (1807 - 1859) and Jean Baptiste Lefebre, known as Rossignol (1809 - 1893), gunsmiths of Clermont-Ferrant (Puy-de-Dome), registered three joint patents in Brussels. The mark indicates that the pistols were inspected in Liège.
