Lot 221 | EIN STUPA AUS SCHIEFER
A SCHIST STUPA South Asia, Gandhara style Schist. H. ca. 80 cm. The stupa is composed of four detachable parts, the quadrangular base is decorated with a niche on each side, comprising Shakyamuni seated between two worshipers framed by upright columns at corner (or Shakyamuni between Brahma and Sakra, as known as "The Supplication of Brahma"). The base supports two large rings carved with lotus flowers and checkerboard pattern and a dome carved with lotus petals, an umbrella (chhatra) with seven discs resting on a central pole (yasti) is placed on top of the stupa. With traces of age, partially damaged.
EIN STUPA AUS SCHIEFER Suedasien, im Gandhara-Stil Schiefer. H. ca. 80 cm. Der Stupa besteht aus vier abnehmbaren Teilen. Die viereckige Basis ist auf jeder Seite mit einer Nische verziert, die Shakyamuni zwischen zwei Anbetern enthaelt, die von aufrechten Saeulen an der Ecke eingerahmt sind (oder Shakyamuni zwischen Brahma und Sakra, bekannt als ''Das Flehen von Brahma''). Die Basis traegt zwei grosse Ringe, die mit Lotusblumen und Schachbrettmuster geschnitzt sind, und eine Kuppel mit Lotusbluetenblaettern. Ein Schirm (Chhatra) mit sieben Scheiben steht auf der Kuppel. Part. besch., mit Altersspuren.
