Watercolour and opaque paints on ivory. 5.2 x 3.5 cm (in the high oval) cm. Glued behind with paper. Minor restoration. Brass frame (5.8 x 4.3 cm), inserted in the wine-red passe-partout of a frame made of gilt bronze (14.3 x 12.5 cm).

Henri Charles Ferdinand Marie Dieudonné de Bourbon-Artois, duc de Bordeaux, comte de Chambord war der posthum geborene Sohn des Charles-Ferdinand dArtois, duc de Berry (1778-1820) und seiner zweiten Gemahlin Prinzessin Maria Carolina von Bourbon-Sizilien (1798-1870). Er heiratete 1846 Erzherzogin Maria Theresia von Österreich-Este (1817 Modena - 1886 Görz). Die Ehe blieb kinderlos. Henri dArthois wurde nach der Abdankung seines Großvaters Karl X. 1830 von den französischen Legitimisten zum König von Frankreich ausgerufen.

Laut einer handschriftlichen Notiz, die sich bei den Unterlagen befindet, soll die vorliegende Miniatur von "Peter in Wien" 1842 gefertigt worden sein.

Each of the auction houses has its own payment policy for the won lots. All auction houses accept bank transfers, most of them accept credit card payments. Shipment of the won lot depends on its size. Small items can be delivered by post. Larger lots are sent by courier. Employees of the auction houses will offer you a wide range to choose from.
