"La bonne recette" (Die gute Einnahme). Originaltitel
Bronze, braun patiniert. An der Plinthe betitelt u. bez.; Frühes, großes, vollplastisches Werk Carliers, einen Knaben mit Violine als Straßenmusiker darstellend, auf dem Boden liegende Münzen. Der bekannte französische Bildhauer studierte seit 1869 in Paris (unterbrochen vom Deutsch-Französischen Krieg 1870/71) an der École des Beaux-Arts bei Pierre-Jules Cavelier, später bei François Jouffroy und an der Académie Julian bei Henri Chapu. 1874 debütierte Carlier auf dem Salon, den er danach oft beschickte; 1889 erhielt er eine Goldmedaille auf der Weltausstellung, seine 1890 auf dem Salon ausgestellte Marmorskulptur "Gilliat im Kampf mit den Oktopus" wurde als Hauptwerk vom Musée du Luxembourg erworben. 1900 triumphierte Carlier erneut auf der Weltausstellung in Paris mit der bewunderten Verkörperung weiblicher Anmut in der Skulptur "Le miroir".
