According to the exhibition catalogue of Bödiger-specified provenance could not be clearly established. Albert von Goldschmidt-Rothschild is not as the Client in question, since this was only born in 1879. However, there was a closer relationship between the Rothschild family in Kronberg and also to the local artist's colony. Carl Wilhelm and Hannah Mathilde Rothschild, built in 1887, the Villa Rothschild as a summer residence in Kronberg. Hannah Mathilde was a close friend of the widow of Emperor Frederick II. to Victoria. And this was the social center of the Kronberger painter colony. Thus, there were also points of contact between the artists and the Rothschild family. To also had to hull the family contact, and commissioned him as a painter.
