Plastisch gearbeiteter Torso in massivem Kalkstein. Hinterhalb leicht geflacht. Die Figur im schlichten Faltenkleid. Der ovale Kopf mit Haarlocken dekoriert. Gesamthöhe 88 cm. Modern gesockelt. Partiell bestoßen. Die Öberfläche mit Witterungsspuren. Guter Gesamtzustand.


Provenienz: Anfang der 1990er Jahre in Hongkong erworben. Danach süddeutsche Privatsammlung.

A North Chinese fully sculptured torso of a standing Buddha, Qi dynasty, 550 - 577
The three-dimensional torso carved in solid limestone. Slightly flattened at the back. The figure in a simple pleated dress. The oval head adorned with curls. Total height 88 cm. On a modern pedestal. Some chipping. Traces of weathering on the surface. Overall in good condition.

Provenance: Acquired in Hong Kong in the early 1990s. Thereafter in a South German private collection.
